Edita strengthens board with two Swedsih directors

Edita’s annual general meeting appointed Eva Persson, Managing Director of Cloetta Sverige AB, and Carina Brorman, Vice President for Brand and Communications at E.ON Nordic, as members of Edita’s Board of Directors. Persson and Brorman strengthen the Board’s expertise in the Swedish market, which together with Finland now comprises Edita’s home market. In 2008, approximately 40 percent of Edita’s turnover came from its businesses in Sweden.

In line with its strategy, Edita has become the largest provider of communication services in the Nordic region. Edita’s turnover in 2008 was EUR 111.1 million, of which EUR 41.6 million came from its operations in Sweden. In 2007 EUR 23.1 million came from the operations in Sweden.

Edita’s most notable strategic step in 2008 was the acquisition of Citat Group AB, the largest Swedish company specializing in communication services. Citat Group consists of three companies: Citat, specializing in marketing communications; Citat Journalistgruppen, which has a focus on editorial communication; and Mods Graphic Studio, which concentrates on advanced image processing. In addition, Edita also provides high-quality printing production and direct marketing production in Sweden.

Both of the new Board members are experienced in business on the Nordic level. Eva Persson, Managing Director of Cloetta Sverige AB, worked previously as Managing Director of Cloetta Fazer Sverige AB, and was responsible for operations in Scandinavia. Persson started at Cloetta Fazer in April 2008 as Commercial Director for Scandinavia. Before that she worked for more than 10 years for Coca-Cola Drycker Sverige AB, most recently as Marketing Director.

“Edita is both a stable and an interesting company, with its focus on an exciting industry,” Persson says. “Since both the industry and Edita are going through changes, it is exciting to have the opportunity to contribute with my experience to Edita’s continued success.”

Carina Brorman has been Vice President for Brand and Communications at E.ON Nordic since April 2008. Before that, she was Managing Director of Swedish Television (SVT) South for seven years. She had moved to SVT from the Malmö Opera where she was Deputy Managing Director. Brorman is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm.

“Being a member of the Board will be exciting and challenging,” Brorman says. “Edita is currently undergoing a transformation from being a traditional communications producer to a modern communications company using state-of-the-art technology. Edita lies within my spheres of interest, both operationally and geographically. I hope that my background from the media and the business community will contribute to Edita's future progress.”

In addition to the new Board members, the following directors will continue: Chairman of the Board, Lauri Ratia; Deputy Chairman, Jarmo Väisänen, Senior Financial Counselor with the Finnish Ownership Steering Department; Liisa Jauri, Head of Securities Infrastructure, Nordea; Riitta Laitasalo, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Kesko Corporation; and Timo Löyttyniemi, Managing Director of Finland's State Pension Fund.
