JG Communication makes the new website for Smörfrämjandet

The new website for Smörfrämjandet should inspire people to use butter. JG Communication, formerly called Citat Journalistgruppen, has developed the website which focuses on interactivity and a feel for cooking.

Smörfrämjandet’s objectives are to promote the unique taste of Swedish butter and its qualities in cooking and baking. Smörfrämjandet therefore decided to create a website about the excellence of Swedish butter.

Smörfrämjandet, which is part of the Swedish Dairy Association, and JG Communication worked together to design a site that inspires and offers an experience, while providing knowledge about butter and its uses.

Pelle Sunnerot, the project leader from JG Communication, says: “We didn’t want to produce just another website with recipes and other information about butter. Instead, we’ve created an interactive environment where you get as close as possible to tasting butter without the actual aroma. It should be a culinary experience. Film is an important complement to the words and images.”

The website offers a smorgasbord of gastronomic possibilities using butter. Some of the ingredients in the website are the ability to share your knowledge through a recipe exchange and read tips from star chefs who pass on their expertise.

Janina Blomberg Aldebo, the project leader from the Swedish Dairy Association, says: “It’s been a lot of fun working with JG Communication. Their creative ideas and enthusiasm have really raised the level of ambition for the site. The cooperation has been fantastic and I’ve appreciated that JG has been readily available during the entire project. In close cooperation with us at the Swedish Dairy Association, they have done everything, from the concept and design to the technical requirement specifications and filming. JG has consistently come up with good solutions and has worked quickly and effectively with high quality.”

The website is built on EPiServer 5 by the Swedish Dairy Association IT and Logica Gävle.
